Our Elementary and Middle School Faculty are selected on the basis of training and experience. All regular classroom teachers have credentials from the Association of Christian Schools International or the Teachers Standard Practices Commission.

All faculty are under the direction of Frank Canepa, GCS Administrator, and Pastor Thomas P. Frisinger, GCS Superintendent and Senior Pastor of Faith Journey Church.

Elementary and Middle School Staff

Susie Langston, 1/2 Day Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Langston has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters in Religious Education. She has been teaching for 34 years; 14 of those years have been at Gaarde Christian School.

Marti Noble, Full Day Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Noble has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a Speech Endorsement. She has been teaching for 19 years; 14 of those years have been at Gaarde Christian School.

Krystal Donohue, 1st Grade Teacher

Miss Muir has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 6 years. She has been teaching at Gaarde Christian School for 5 years.

Deena Powers, 2nd Grade Teacher

Mrs. Powers has a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. She has been teaching for 21 years; 12 of those years have been at Gaarde Christian School.

Karissa Brown, 3rd Grade Teacher

Miss Karissa Brown has her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from George Fox University.  She has been teaching for 3 years.  This is her third year at Gaarde Christian School.

Lindsey Garcia, 4th/5th Grade Teacher

Mrs. Garcia has a Bachelors of Arts degree from California State University East Bay.  She has taught 5th grade for one year and this is her second year at Gaarde.

Jennifer Sahli, Middle School - 6th through 8th grades

Mrs. Sahli has a Bachelors of Science in Sociology and a Masters in Teaching. She has been teaching for 9 years; all 9 of those years have been at Gaarde Christian School.

Kirsten Johnson, Middle School - 6th through 8th grades

Mrs. Kirsten Johnson has her degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in History from California State University Northridge and a multiple subject teaching credential.  She has been teaching for 3 years and this is her second year at Gaarde Christian School.

Janine Smith, Music Teacher

Mrs. Smith has a Bachelors of Science in Music Education. She has been teaching for 15 years; 10 of those years have been at Gaarde Christian School.
