Gaarde Christian School Annual Walk-a-Thon - October 2009 Our walk-a-thon is an annual favorite for the students and families of Gaarde Christian School. Pledges are collected by the students, preschool through 8th grade. On walk-a-thon day, our preschool and half-day kindergarten students walk a safely marked off area in the rear of our campus, and our older students walk and run laps around the campus. Students are then treated to a snow cone. Mmmmm.
Fourth Grade Inventors - January 2009 The fourth graders studied inventors in history, then machines and measurement in science. So, they put on their inventor hats and designed marble machines. The students had five challenges. 1) The base of their project had to be equal to or less than the size of their desktop. 2) The machine had to have at least one freefall/air drop. 3) The marble had to move continuously downward. 4) The duration of the motion had to last 20+ seconds. 5) It had to have a catch ending, rather than a marble flying ending. They were full of creative ways to slow down the marble and catch it. In the end, they did a super job designing and problem solving for show time.
Class Color Wars @ Gaarde Christian School - February 2009 Our students demonstrated their creativity and school spirit by wearing their class color on Color War day.
Crazy Hair Day @ Gaarde Christian - January 2009 On this January day, the students of GCS demonstrated some real imagination and creativity!
